Coloring tricks and fun facts about oranges
Coloring tricks:
Use two shades of orange, lighter in the middle, darker on the edges, it gives it a bit of depth.
Add little dots on the peel with a slightly darker color, it makes it look more real.
Try a soft yellow in the center of each slice, it breaks up the color nicely.
Fun facts:
Oranges are actually a mix of two fruits, pomelo and mandarin.
The color orange was entirely named after the fruit and completely not the other way around.
The smell comes from oils in the peel, which is why it sprays a bit when you squeeze it.
We made sure to toss in some giant simple outlines for toddlers right alongside some beautifully tricky citrus patterns for older kids.
